⁶ Let not them that wait for thee be put to shame through me, O Lord Jehovah of hosts: Let not those that seek thee be brought to dishonor through me, O God of Israel.

³ The God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spake to me: One that ruleth over men righteously, That ruleth in the fear of God,

¹⁷ The God of this people Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they sojourned in the land of Egypt, and with a high arm led he them forth out of it.

⁷ And when they had set them in the midst, they inquired, By what power, or in what name, have ye done this?

¹⁹ And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, The things concerning Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:

²⁰ and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him.

²¹ But we hoped that it was he who should redeem Israel. Yea and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things came to pass.

²³ And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their faces to the earth, and lick the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am Jehovah; and they that wait for me shall not be put to shame.

¹⁸ Blessed be Jehovah God, the God of Israel, Who only doeth wondrous things:

²⁶ Let them be put to shame and confounded together that rejoice at my hurt: Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor that magnify themselves against me.

³ Yea, none that wait for thee shall be put to shame: They shall be put to shame that deal treacherously without cause.

⁷ And let the congregation of the peoples compass thee about; And over them return thou on high.

²³ Of this man's seed hath God according to promise brought unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus;
