⁹ For the zeal of thy house hath eaten me up; And the reproaches of them that reproach thee are fallen upon me.

³ For Christ also pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell upon me.

¹³⁹ My zeal hath consumed me, Because mine adversaries have forgotten thy words.

¹⁴ And he found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:

¹⁵ and he made a scourge of cords, and cast all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers' money, and overthrew their tables;

¹⁶ and to them that sold the doves he said, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house a house of merchandise.

¹⁷ His disciples remembered that it was written, Zeal for thy house shall eat me up.

⁵⁰ Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants; How I do bear in my bosom `the reproach of' all the mighty peoples,

⁵¹ Wherewith thine enemies have reproached, O Jehovah, Wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.

¹⁰ And he said, I have been very jealous for Jehovah, the God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword: and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.

²⁷ And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bare the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song `with' the singers: and David had upon him an ephod of linen.

²⁸ Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, sounding aloud with psalteries and harps.

²⁹ And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of Jehovah came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window, and saw king David dancing and playing; and she despised him in her heart.

³ Moreover also, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, seeing that I have a treasure of mine own of gold and silver, I give it unto the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,

⁴¹ All that pass by the way rob him: He is become a reproach to his neighbors.

¹⁵ And they come to Jerusalem: and he entered into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and them that bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money-changers, and the seats of them that sold the doves;

¹⁶ and he would not suffer that any man should carry a vessel through the temple.

¹⁷ And he taught, and said unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations? but ye have made it a den of robbers.
