¹⁸ Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O Jehovah, And that a foolish people hath blasphemed thy name.

⁸ Deliver me from all my transgressions: Make me not the reproach of the foolish.

¹⁹ And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and Babylon the great was remembered in the sight of God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

⁶ Do ye thus requite Jehovah, O foolish people and unwise? Is not he thy father that hath bought thee? He hath made thee, and established thee.

¹⁴ But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them out.

⁶ I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that are Jehovah's remembrancers, take ye no rest,

⁷ and give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

²³ Whom hast thou defied and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice and lifted up thine eyes on high? `even' against the Holy One of Israel.

²⁴ By thy servants hast thou defied the Lord, and hast said, With the multitude of my chariots am I come up to the height of the mountains, to the innermost parts of Lebanon; and I will cut down the tall cedars thereof, and the choice fir-trees thereof; and I will enter into its farthest height, the forest of its fruitful field;

⁷ Remember, O Jehovah, against the children of Edom The day of Jerusalem; Who said, Rase it, rase it, Even to the foundation thereof.

² Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: Render to the proud `their' desert.

³ Jehovah, how long shall the wicked, How long shall the wicked triumph?

⁴ They prate, they speak arrogantly: All the workers of iniquity boast themselves.

⁵ They break in pieces thy people, O Jehovah, And afflict thy heritage.

⁶ They slay the widow and the sojourner, And murder the fatherless.

⁷ And they say, Jehovah will not see, Neither will the God of Jacob consider.

⁸ Consider, ye brutish among the people; And ye fools, when will ye be wise?

⁵⁰ Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants; How I do bear in my bosom `the reproach of' all the mighty peoples,

⁵¹ Wherewith thine enemies have reproached, O Jehovah, Wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.

²² Arise, O God, plead thine own cause: Remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee all the day.

¹ Blessed is he that considereth the poor: Jehovah will deliver him in the day of evil.

²⁷ Were it not that I feared the provocation of the enemy, Lest their adversaries should judge amiss, Lest they should say, Our hand is exalted, And Jehovah hath not done all this.
