¹ We give thanks unto thee, O God; We give thanks, for thy name is near: Men tell of thy wondrous works.

¹⁸ Jehovah is nigh unto all them that call upon him, To all that call upon him in truth.

² I will worship toward thy holy temple, And give thanks unto thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: For thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

¹ In Judah is God known: His name is great in Israel.

⁶ There is none like unto thee, O Jehovah; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.

¹ Do ye indeed in silence speak righteousness? Do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?

¹ Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me; For my soul taketh refuge in thee: Yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I take refuge, Until `these' calamities be overpast.

¹ We have heard with our ears, O God, Our fathers have told us, What work thou didst in their days, In the days of old.

³³ Did ever a people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?

³⁴ Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of `another' nation, by trials, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that Jehovah your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

⁷ For what great nation is there, that hath a god so nigh unto them, as Jehovah our God is whensoever we call upon him?

⁶ And Jehovah passed by before him, and proclaimed, Jehovah, Jehovah, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness and truth,

⁷ keeping lovingkindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin; and that will by no means clear `the guilty', visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation.

²¹ Take ye heed before him, and hearken unto his voice; provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgression: for my name is in him.
