³⁹ Thou hast abhorred the covenant of thy servant: Thou hast profaned his crown `by casting it' to the ground.

¹⁶ The crown is fallen from our head: Woe unto us! for we have sinned.

⁷ They have set thy sanctuary on fire; They have profaned the dwelling-place of thy name `by casting it' to the ground.

⁷ Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt understand hereafter.

²⁸ Therefore I will profane the princes of the sanctuary; and I will make Jacob a curse, and Israel a reviling.

¹² And the high fortress of thy walls hath he brought down, laid low, and brought to the ground, even to the dust.

³ For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; He hath smitten my life down to the ground: He hath made me to dwell in dark places, as those that have been long dead.

¹¹ I said in my haste, All men are liars.

⁴⁴ Thou hast made his brightness to cease, And cast his throne down to the ground.

³⁴ My covenant will I not break, Nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

³⁵ Once have I sworn by my holiness: I will not lie unto David:

³⁶ His seed shall endure for ever, And his throne as the sun before me.

¹⁰ And I said, This is my infirmity; `But I will remember' the years of the right hand of the Most High.
