¹⁷ But if some of the branches were broken off, and thou, being a wild olive, wast grafted in among them, and didst become partaker with them of the root of the fatness of the olive tree;

¹¹ Wherefore remember, that once ye, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called Circumcision, in the flesh, made by hands;

¹² that ye were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

¹³ But now in Christ Jesus ye that once were far off are made nigh in the blood of Christ.

² Every branch in me that beareth not fruit, he taketh it away: and every `branch' that beareth fruit, he cleanseth it, that it may bear more fruit.

¹⁶ Jehovah called thy name, A green olive-tree, fair with goodly fruit: with the noise of a great tumult he hath kindled fire upon it, and the branches of it are broken.

⁶ `to wit', that the Gentiles are fellow-heirs, and fellow-members of the body, and fellow-partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel,

⁸ But as for me, I am like a green olive-tree in the house of God: I trust in the lovingkindness of God for ever and ever.

⁸ The trees went forth on a time to anoint a king over them; and they said unto the olive-tree, Reign thou over us.

⁹ But the olive-tree said unto them, Should I leave my fatness, wherewith by me they honor God and man, and go to wave to and fro over the trees?

⁴³ Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken away from you, and shall be given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

³⁹ For to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, `even' as many as the Lord our God shall call unto him.

¹³ And you, being dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, you, `I say', did he make alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses;

⁴ These are the two olive trees and the two candlesticks, standing before the Lord of the earth.

¹⁵ We being Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,

⁸ a land of wheat and barley, and vines and fig-trees and pomegranates; a land of olive-trees and honey;

¹¹ It sent out its branches unto the sea, And its shoots unto the River.

¹² Why hast thou broken down its walls, So that all they that pass by the way do pluck it?

¹³ The boar out of the wood doth ravage it, And the wild beasts of the field feed on it.

¹⁴ Turn again, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: Look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine,

¹⁵ And the stock which thy right hand planted, And the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.

¹⁶ It is burned with fire, it is cut down: They perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.

¹³ And if there be yet a tenth in it, it also shall in turn be eaten up: as a terebinth, and as an oak, whose stock remaineth, when they are felled; so the holy seed is the stock thereof.

¹¹ When the boughs thereof are withered, they shall be broken off; the women shall come, and set them on fire; for it is a people of no understanding: therefore he that made them will not have compassion upon them, and he that formed them will show them no favor.

⁶ Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: As the vine-tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

⁷ And I will set my face against them; they shall go forth from the fire, but the fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I am Jehovah, when I set my face against them.

⁸ And I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass, saith the Lord Jehovah.

¹⁶ Then the men feared Jehovah exceedingly; and they offered a sacrifice unto Jehovah, and made vows.

³ and two olive-trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.

¹¹ And I say unto you, that many shall come from the east and the west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven:

¹² but the sons of the kingdom shall be cast forth into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.

⁶ If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
