¹⁴ Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.

²¹ Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh; and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

¹ Whence `come' wars and whence `come' fightings among you? `come they' not hence, `even' of your pleasures that war in your members?

² Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and covet, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war; ye have not, because ye ask not.

³ Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may spend `it' in your pleasures.

¹⁶ For where jealousy and faction are, there is confusion and every vile deed.

¹⁴ But if ye have bitter jealousy and faction in your heart, glory not and lie not against the truth.

¹⁵ But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

⁷ And when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and Sadducees; and the assembly was divided.

⁸ For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit; but the Pharisees confess both.

⁹ And there arose a great clamor: and some of the scribes of the Pharisees part stood up, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: and what if a spirit hath spoken to him, or an angel?

¹⁰ And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should be torn in pieces by them, commanded the soldiers to go down and take him by force from among them, and bring him into the castle.

¹⁰ And then shall many stumble, and shall deliver up one another, and shall hate one another.

⁹ Then said I, I will not feed you: that which dieth, let it die; and that which is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let them that are left eat every one the flesh of another.

⁷ So I fed the flock of slaughter, verily the poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock.

¹⁶ And thou, son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and `for' all the house of Israel his companions:

¹⁷ and join them for thee one to another into one stick, that they may become one in thy hand.

¹⁸ And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not show us what thou meanest by these?

¹⁹ say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his companions; and I will put them with it, `even' with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in my hand.

²⁰ And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thy hand before their eyes.

¹³ The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and they that vex Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.
