² When evil-doers came at me to eat up my flesh, Even my adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell.

³ Though a host should encamp against me, My heart shall not fear. Though war should rise against me, Even then I will be confident.

⁴ One thing I have asked of Yahweh, that I will seek after, That I may dwell in the house of Yahweh all the days of my life, To see Yahweh's beauty, And to inquire in his temple.

⁴ "I tell you, my friends, don't be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

⁵ But I will warn you whom you should fear. Fear him, who after he has killed, has power to cast into Gehenna.{or, Hell} Yes, I tell you, fear him.

⁶ "Aren't five sparrows sold for two assaria coins{An assarion was a small copper coin worth about an hour's wages for an agricultural laborer.}? Not one of them is forgotten by God.

²⁸ Don't be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.

¹ > Yahweh is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?

⁶ So that with good courage we say, "The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?"

⁶ Yahweh is on my side. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?

⁶ You, son of man, don't be afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you, and you do dwell among scorpions: don't be afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house.

³ When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.

⁴ In God, I praise his word. In God, I put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?

⁵ All day long they twist my words. All their thoughts are against me for evil.
