^{1 Ref} And the teaching I gave you, my brothers, was such as I was able to give, not to those who have the Spirit, but to those who are still in the flesh, even to children in Christ.

^{2 Ref} I gave you milk and not meat, because you were, then, unable to take it, and even now you are not able;

^{3 Ref} Because you are still in the flesh: for when there is envy and division among you, are you not still walking after the way of the flesh, even as natural men?

^{4 Ref} For when one says, I am of Paul; and another says, I am of Apollos; are you not talking like natural men?

^{5 Ref} What then is Apollos? and what is Paul? They are but servants who gave you the good news as God gave it to them.

^{6 Ref} I did the planting, Apollos did the watering, but God gave the increase.

^{7 Ref} So then the planter is nothing, and the waterer is nothing; but God who gives the increase.

^{8 Ref} Now the planter and the waterer are working for the same end: but they will have their separate rewards in the measure of their work.

^{9 Ref} For we are workers with God: you are God's planting, God's building.

^{10 Ref} In the measure of the grace given to me, I, as a wise master-builder, have put the base in position, and another goes on building on it. But let every man take care what he puts on it.

^{11 Ref} For there is no other base for the building but that which has been put down, which is Jesus Christ.

^{12 Ref} But on the base a man may put gold, silver, stones of great price, wood, dry grass, cut stems;

^{13 Ref} Every man's work will be made clear in that day, because it will be tested by fire; and the fire itself will make clear the quality of every man's work.

^{14 Ref} If any man's work comes through the test, he will have a reward.

^{15 Ref} If the fire puts an end to any man's work, it will be his loss: but he will get salvation himself, though as by fire.

^{16 Ref} Do you not see that you are God's holy house, and that the Spirit of God has his place in you?

^{17 Ref} If anyone makes the house of God unclean, God will put an end to him; for the house of God is holy, and you are his house.

^{18 Ref} Let no man have a false idea. If any man seems to himself to be wise among you, let him become foolish, so that he may be wise.

^{19 Ref} For the wisdom of this world is foolish before God. As it is said in the holy Writings, He who takes the wise in their secret designs:

^{20 Ref} And again, The Lord has knowledge of the reasonings of the wise, that they are nothing.

^{21 Ref} So let no one take pride in men. For all things are yours;

^{22 Ref} Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;

^{23 Ref} And you are Christ's; and Christ is God's.

^{1 Ref} Brothers, I couldn't speak to you as to spiritual, but as to fleshly, as to babies in Christ.

^{2 Ref} I fed you with milk, not with meat; for you weren't yet ready. Indeed, not even now are you ready,

^{3 Ref} for you are still fleshly. For insofar as there is jealousy, strife, and factions among you, aren't you fleshly, and don't you walk in the ways of men?

^{4 Ref} For when one says, "I follow Paul," and another, "I follow Apollos," aren't you fleshly?

^{5 Ref} Who then is Apollos, and who is Paul, but servants through whom you believed; and each as the Lord gave to him?

^{6 Ref} I planted. Apollos watered. But God gave the increase.

^{7 Ref} So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.

^{8 Ref} Now he who plants and he who waters are the same, but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor.

^{9 Ref} For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's farming, God's building.

^{10 Ref} According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another builds on it. But let each man be careful how he builds on it.

^{11 Ref} For no one can lay any other foundation than that which has been laid, which is Jesus Christ.

^{12 Ref} But if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, or stubble;

^{13 Ref} each man's work will be revealed. For the Day will declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself will test what sort of work each man's work is.

^{14 Ref} If any man's work remains which he built on it, he will receive a reward.

^{15 Ref} If any man's work is burned, he will suffer loss, but he himself will be saved, but as through fire.

^{16 Ref} Don't you know that you are a temple of God, and that God's Spirit lives in you?

^{17 Ref} If anyone destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him; for God's temple is holy, which you are.

^{18 Ref} Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool, that he may become wise.

^{19 Ref} For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, "He has taken the wise in their craftiness."

^{20 Ref} And again, "The Lord knows the reasoning of the wise, that it is worthless."

^{21 Ref} Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours,

^{22 Ref} whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come. All are yours,

^{23 Ref} and you are Christ's, and Christ is God's.
