¹ Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,

^{2 Ref} "Dominion and fear are with him; He makes peace in his high places.

^{3 Ref} Can his armies be counted? On whom does his light not arise?

^{4 Ref} How then can man be just with God? Or how can he who is born of a woman be clean?

^{5 Ref} Behold, even the moon has no brightness, And the stars are not pure in his sight;

^{6 Ref} How much less man, who is a worm! The son of man, who is a worm!"

¹ And Bildad the Shuhite answereth and saith: --

^{2 Ref} The rule and fear `are' with Him, Making peace in His high places.

^{3 Ref} Is their `any' number to His troops? And on whom ariseth not His light?

^{4 Ref} And what? is man righteous with God? And what? is he pure -- born of a woman?

^{5 Ref} Lo -- unto the moon, and it shineth not, And stars have not been pure in His eyes.

^{6 Ref} How much less man -- a grub, And the son of man -- a worm!

¹ Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
