^{1 Ref} To the Overseer with stringed instruments, on the octave. -- A Psalm of David. O Jehovah, in Thine anger reprove me not, Nor in Thy fury chastise me.

^{2 Ref} Favour me, O Jehovah, for I `am' weak, Heal me, O Jehovah, For troubled have been my bones,

^{3 Ref} And my soul hath been troubled greatly, And Thou, O Jehovah, till when?

^{4 Ref} Turn back, O Jehovah, draw out my soul, Save me for Thy kindness' sake.

^{5 Ref} For there is not in death Thy memorial, In Sheol, who doth give thanks to Thee?

^{6 Ref} I have been weary with my sighing, I meditate through all the night `on' my bed, With my tear my couch I waste.

^{7 Ref} Old from provocation is mine eye, It is old because of all mine adversaries,

^{8 Ref} Turn from me all ye workers of iniquity, For Jehovah heard the voice of my weeping,

^{9 Ref} Jehovah hath heard my supplication, Jehovah my prayer receiveth.

^{10 Ref} Ashamed and troubled greatly are all mine enemies, They turn back -- ashamed `in' a moment!

^{1 Ref} > Yahweh, don't rebuke me in your anger, Neither discipline me in your wrath.

^{2 Ref} Have mercy on me, Yahweh, for I am faint. Yahweh, heal me, for my bones are troubled.

^{3 Ref} My soul is also in great anguish. But you, Yahweh--how long?

^{4 Ref} Return, Yahweh. Deliver my soul, And save me for your loving kindness' sake.

^{5 Ref} For in death there is no memory of you. In Sheol, who shall give you thanks?

^{6 Ref} I am weary with my groaning; Every night I flood my bed; I drench my couch with my tears.

^{7 Ref} My eye wastes away because of grief; It grows old because of all my adversaries.

^{8 Ref} Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity, For Yahweh has heard the voice of my weeping.

^{9 Ref} Yahweh has heard my supplication. Yahweh accepts my prayer.

^{10 Ref} May all my enemies be ashamed and dismayed. They shall turn back, they shall be disgraced suddenly.
