Psalms 8
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
1 Ref To the Overseer, `On the Gittith.' A Psalm of David. Jehovah, our Lord, How honourable Thy name in all the earth! Who settest thine honour on the heavens.
2 Ref From the mouths of infants and sucklings Thou hast founded strength, Because of Thine adversaries, To still an enemy and a self-avenger.
3 Ref For I see Thy heavens, a work of Thy fingers, Moon and stars that Thou didst establish.
4 Ref What `is' man that Thou rememberest him? The son of man that Thou inspectest him?
5 Ref And causest him to lack a little of Godhead, And with honour and majesty compassest him.
6 Ref Thou dost cause him to rule Over the works of Thy hands, All Thou hast placed under his feet.
7 Ref Sheep and oxen, all of them, And also beasts of the field,
8 Ref Bird of the heavens, and fish of the sea, Passing through the paths of the seas!
9 Ref Jehovah, our Lord, How honourable Thy name in all the earth!

1 Ref > Yahweh, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth, Who has set your glory above the heavens!
2 Ref From the lips of babes and infants you have established strength, Because of your adversaries, that you might silence the enemy and the avenger.
3 Ref When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, The moon and the stars, which you have ordained;
4 Ref What is man, that you think of him? The son of man, that you care for him?
5 Ref For you have made him a little lower than God,{Hebrew: Elohim} And crowned him with glory and honor.
6 Ref You make him ruler over the works of your hands. You have put all things under his feet:
7 Ref All sheep and oxen, Yes, and the animals of the field,
8 Ref The birds of the sky, the fish of the sea, And whatever passes through the paths of the seas.
9 Ref Yahweh, our Lord, How majestic is your name in all the earth!
