1 Ref In Jehovah do I take refuge: How say ye to my soul, Flee `as' a bird to your mountain;
2 Ref For, lo, the wicked bend the bow, They make ready their arrow upon the string, That they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart;
3 Ref If the foundations be destroyed, What can the righteous do?
4 Ref Jehovah is in his holy temple; Jehovah, his throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.
5 Ref Jehovah trieth the righteous; But the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.
6 Ref Upon the wicked he will rain snares; Fire and brimstone and burning wind shall be the portion of their cup.
7 Ref For Jehovah is righteous; he loveth righteousness: The upright shall behold his face. Psalm 12 For the Chief Musician; set to the Sheminith. A Psalm of David.
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
1 Ref To the Overseer. -- By David. In Jehovah I trusted, how say ye to my soul, `They moved `to' Thy mountain for the bird?
2 Ref For lo, the wicked tread a bow, They have prepared their arrow on the string, To shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.
3 Ref When the foundations are destroyed, The righteous -- what hath he done?
4 Ref `Jehovah `is' in his holy temple: Jehovah -- in the heavens `is' His throne. His eyes see -- His eyelids try the sons of men.
5 Ref Jehovah the righteous doth try. And the wicked and the lover of violence, Hath His soul hated,
6 Ref He poureth on the wicked snares, fire, and brimstone, And a horrible wind `is' the portion of their cup.
7 Ref For righteous `is' Jehovah, Righteousness He hath loved, The upright doth His countenance see!'

5 Ref Yahweh examines the righteous, But the wicked and him who loves violence his soul hates.
6 Ref On the wicked he will rain blazing coals; Fire, sulfur, and scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.
7 Ref For Yahweh is righteous. He loves righteousness. The upright shall see his face.
