Galatians 6

American Standard-ASV1901 (ASV)

1 Ref Brethren, even if a man be overtaken in any trespass, ye who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; looking to thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

2 Ref Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

3 Ref For if a man thinketh himself to be something when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

4 Ref But let each man prove his own work, and then shall he have his glorying in regard of himself alone, and not of his neighbor.

5 Ref For each man shall bear his own burden.

6 Ref But let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.

7 Ref Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

8 Ref For he that soweth unto his own flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth unto the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap eternal life.

9 Ref And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

10 Ref So then, as we have opportunity, let us work that which is good toward all men, and especially toward them that are of the household of the faith.

11 Ref See with how large letters I write unto you with mine own hand.

12 Ref As many as desire to make a fair show in the flesh, they compel you to be circumcised; only that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.

13 Ref For not even they who receive circumcision do themselves keep the law; but they desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.

14 Ref But far be it from me to glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world hath been crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

15 Ref For neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

16 Ref And as many as shall walk by this rule, peace `be' upon them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

17 Ref Henceforth, let no man trouble me; for I bear branded on my body the marks of Jesus.

18 Ref The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brethren. Amen.

Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

1 Ref Brethren, if a man also may be overtaken in any trespass, ye who `are' spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of meekness, considering thyself -- lest thou also may be tempted;

2 Ref of one another the burdens bear ye, and so fill up the law of the Christ,

3 Ref for if any one doth think `himself' to be something -- being nothing -- himself he doth deceive;

4 Ref and his own work let each one prove, and then in regard to himself alone the glorying he shall have, and not in regard to the other,

5 Ref for each one his own burden shall bear.

6 Ref And let him who is instructed in the word share with him who is instructing -- in all good things.

7 Ref Be not led astray; God is not mocked; for what a man may sow -- that also he shall reap,

8 Ref because he who is sowing to his own flesh, of the flesh shall reap corruption; and he who is sowing to the Spirit, of the Spirit shall reap life age-during;

9 Ref and in the doing good we may not be faint-hearted, for at the proper time we shall reap -- not desponding;

10 Ref therefore, then, as we have opportunity, may we work the good to all, and especially unto those of the household of the faith.

11 Ref Ye see in how large letters I have written to you with my own hand;

12 Ref as many as are willing to make a good appearance in the flesh, these constrain you to be circumcised -- only that for the cross of the Christ they may not be persecuted,

13 Ref for neither do those circumcised themselves keep the law, but they wish you to be circumcised, that in your flesh they may glory.

14 Ref And for me, let it not be -- to glory, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which to me the world hath been crucified, and I to the world;

15 Ref for in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation;

16 Ref and as many as by this rule do walk -- peace upon them, and kindness, and on the Israel of God!

17 Ref Henceforth, let no one give me trouble, for I the scars of the Lord Jesus in my body do bear.

18 Ref The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ `is' with your spirit, brethren! Amen.
