1 Ref And the Lord said to Moses in the waste land of Sinai, in the Tent of meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they came out of the land of Egypt,
2 Ref Take the full number of the children of Israel, by their families, and by their fathers' houses, every male by name;
3 Ref All those of twenty years old and over, who are able to go to war in Israel, are to be numbered by you and Aaron.
4 Ref And to give you help, take one man from every tribe, the head of his father's house.
5 Ref These are the names of those who are to be your helpers: from Reuben, Elizur, the son of Shedeur;
6 Ref From Simeon, Shelumiel, the son of Zurishaddai;
7 Ref From Judah, Nahshon, the son of Amminadab;
8 Ref From Issachar, Nethanel, the son of Zuar;
9 Ref From Zebulun, Eliab, the son of Helon;
10 Ref Of the children of Joseph: from Ephraim, Elishama, the son of Ammihud; from Manasseh, Gamaliel, the son of Pedahzur,
11 Ref From Benjamin, Abidan, the son of Gideoni;
12 Ref From Dan, Ahiezer, the son of Ammi-shaddai;
13 Ref From Asher, Pagiel, the son of Ochran;
14 Ref From Gad, Eliasaph, the son of Reuel;
15 Ref From Naphtali, Ahira, the son of Enan.
16 Ref These are the men named out of all the people, chiefs of their fathers' houses, heads of the tribes of Israel.
17 Ref And Moses and Aaron took these men, marked out by name;
18 Ref And they got together all the people on the first day of the second month; and everyone made clear his family and his father's house, by the number of the names, from twenty years old and over.
19 Ref As the Lord had given orders to Moses, so they were numbered by him in the waste place of Sinai.
20 Ref The generations of the sons of Reuben, the oldest son of Israel, were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years old and over, who was able to go to war;
21 Ref Forty-six thousand, five hundred of the tribe of Reuben were numbered.
22 Ref The generations of the sons of Simeon were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years old and over, who was able to go to war;
23 Ref Fifty-nine thousand, three hundred of the tribe of Simeon were numbered.
24 Ref The generations of the sons of Gad were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years old and over who was able to go to war;
25 Ref Forty-five thousand, six hundred and fifty of the tribe of Gad were numbered.
26 Ref The generations of the sons of Judah were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years old and over who was able to go to war;
27 Ref Seventy-four thousand, six hundred of the tribe of Judah were numbered.
28 Ref The generations of the sons of Issachar were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years old and over who was able to go to war;
29 Ref Fifty-four thousand, four hundred of the tribe of Issachar were numbered.
30 Ref The generations of the sons of Zebulun were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years old and over who was able to go to war;
31 Ref Fifty-seven thousand, four hundred of the tribe of Zebulun were numbered.
32 Ref The generations of the sons of Joseph were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years old and over who was able to go to war;
33 Ref Forty thousand, five hundred of the tribe of Ephraim were numbered.
34 Ref The generations of the sons of Manasseh were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years old and over who was able to go to war;
35 Ref Thirty-two thousand, two hundred of the tribe of Manasseh were numbered.
36 Ref The generations of the sons of Benjamin were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years old and over who was able to go to war;
37 Ref Thirty-five thousand, four hundred of the tribe of Benjamin were numbered.
38 Ref The generations of the sons of Dan were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years and over who was able to go to war;
39 Ref Sixty-two thousand, seven hundred of the tribe of Dan were numbered.
40 Ref The generations of the sons of Asher were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years old and over who was able to go to war;
41 Ref Forty-one thousand, five hundred of the tribe of Asher were numbered.
42 Ref The generations of the sons of Naphtali were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years old and over who was able to go to war;
43 Ref Fifty-three thousand, four hundred of the tribe of Naphtali were numbered.
44 Ref These are they who were numbered by Moses and Aaron and by the twelve chiefs of Israel, one from every tribe.
45 So all those who were numbered of the children of Israel, by their families, all those of twenty years old and over who were able to go to war,
46 Ref Were six hundred and three thousand, five hundred and fifty.
47 Ref But the Levites, of the tribe of their fathers, were not numbered among them.
48 For the Lord said to Moses,
49 Ref Only the tribe of Levi is not to be numbered among the children of Israel,
50 Ref But to them you are to give the care of the Tent of meeting with its vessels and everything in it: they are to take up the Tent, and be responsible for everything to do with it, and put up their tents round it.
51 Ref And when the Tent of meeting goes forward, the Levites are to take it down; and when it is to be put up, they are to do it: any strange person who comes near it is to be put to death.
52 Ref The children of Israel are to put up their tents, every man in his tent-circle round his flag.
53 Ref But the tents of the Levites are to be round the Tent of meeting, so that wrath may not come on the children of Israel: the Tent of meeting is to be in the care of the Levites.
54 Ref So the children of Israel did as the Lord had given orders to Moses.

18 Ref And they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month; and they declared their pedigrees after their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.
19 Ref As Jehovah commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.
20 Ref And the children of Reuben, Israel's first-born, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
21 Ref those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Reuben, were forty and six thousand and five hundred.

23 Ref those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Simeon, were fifty and nine thousand and three hundred.
24 Ref Of the children of Gad, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
25 Ref those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Gad, were forty and five thousand six hundred and fifty.
26 Ref Of the children of Judah, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

45 So all they that were numbered of the children of Israel by their fathers' houses, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war in Israel;
46 Ref even all they that were numbered were six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.
47 Ref But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them.
48 For Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,
49 Ref Only the tribe of Levi thou shalt not number, neither shalt thou take the sum of them among the children of Israel;
50 Ref but appoint thou the Levites over the tabernacle of the testimony, and over all the furniture thereof, and over all that belongeth to it: they shall bear the tabernacle, and all the furniture thereof; and they shall minister unto it, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle.
51 Ref And when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
52 Ref And the children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, according to their hosts.
53 Ref But the Levites shall encamp round about the tabernacle of the testimony, that there be no wrath upon the congregation of the children of Israel: and the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of the testimony.
54 Ref Thus did the children of Israel; according to all that Jehovah commanded Moses, so did they.

49 Ref "Only the tribe of Levi you shall not number, neither shall you take a census of them among the children of Israel;
50 Ref but appoint the Levites over the Tabernacle of the Testimony, and over all its furnishings, and over all that belongs to it. They shall carry the tabernacle, and all its furnishings; and they shall take care of it, and shall encamp around it.
51 Ref When the tabernacle is to move, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall set it up. The stranger who comes near shall be put to death.
52 Ref The children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, according to their divisions.
53 Ref But the Levites shall encamp around the Tabernacle of the Testimony, that there may be no wrath on the congregation of the children of Israel: and the Levites shall be responsible for the Tabernacle of the Testimony."
54 Ref Thus the children of Israel did. According to all that Yahweh commanded Moses, so they did.
