^{1 Ref} And when he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.

^{2 Ref} And behold, there came to him a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

^{3 Ref} And he stretched forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou made clean. And straightway his leprosy was cleansed.

^{4 Ref} And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go, show thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

^{5 Ref} And when he was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,

^{6 Ref} and saying, Lord, my servant lieth in the house sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.

^{7 Ref} And he saith unto him, I will come and heal him.

^{8 Ref} And the centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof; but only say the word, and my servant shall be healed.

^{9 Ref} For I also am a man under authority, having under myself soldiers: and I say to this one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

^{10 Ref} And when Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

^{11 Ref} And I say unto you, that many shall come from the east and the west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven:

^{12 Ref} but the sons of the kingdom shall be cast forth into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.

^{13 Ref} And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; as thou hast believed, `so' be it done unto thee. And the servant was healed in that hour.

^{14 Ref} And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother lying sick of a fever.

^{15 Ref} And he touched her hand, and the fever left her; and she arose, and ministered unto him.

^{16 Ref} And when even was come, they brought unto him many possessed with demons: and he cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all that were sick:

^{17 Ref} that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying: Himself took our infirmities, and bare our diseases.

^{18 Ref} Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandments to depart unto the other side.

^{19 Ref} And there came a scribe, and said unto him, Teacher, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

^{20 Ref} And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heaven `have' nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

^{21 Ref} And another of the disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.

^{22 Ref} But Jesus saith unto him, Follow me; and leave the dead to bury their own dead.

^{23 Ref} And when he was entered into a boat, his disciples followed him.

^{24 Ref} And behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the boat was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.

^{25 Ref} And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Save, Lord; we perish.

^{26 Ref} And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

^{27 Ref} And the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him?

^{28 Ref} And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gadarenes, there met him two possessed with demons, coming forth out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man could pass by that way.

^{29 Ref} And behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

^{30 Ref} Now there was afar off from them a herd of many swine feeding.

^{31 Ref} And the demons besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, send us away into the herd of swine.

^{32 Ref} And he said unto them, Go. And they came out, and went into the swine: and behold, the whole herd rushed down the steep into the sea, and perished in the waters.

^{33 Ref} And they that fed them fled, and went away into the city, and told everything, and what was befallen to them that were possessed with demons.

^{34 Ref} And behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought `him' that he would depart from their borders.

^{4 Ref} And Jesus said to him, See that you say nothing about this to anyone; but go and let the priest see you and make the offering which was ordered by Moses, for a witness to them.

^{5 Ref} And when Jesus was come into Capernaum, a certain captain came to him with a request,

^{6 Ref} Saying, Lord, my servant is ill in bed at the house, with no power in his body, and in great pain.

^{7 Ref} And he said to him, I will come and make him well.

^{8 Ref} And the captain in answer said, Lord, I am not good enough for you to come under my roof; but only say the word, and my servant will be made well.

^{9 Ref} Because I myself am a man under authority, having under me fighting men; and I say to this one, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my servant, Do this, and he does it.

^{10 Ref} And when these words came to the ears of Jesus he was surprised, and said to those who came after him, Truly I say to you, I have not seen such great faith, no, not in Israel.

^{11 Ref} And I say to you that numbers will come from the east and the west, and will take their seats with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven:

^{12 Ref} But the sons of the kingdom will be put out into the dark, and there will be weeping and cries of pain.

^{13 Ref} And Jesus said to the captain, Go in peace; as your faith is, so let it be done to you. And the servant was made well in that hour.

^{14 Ref} And when Jesus had come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother in bed, very ill.

^{15 Ref} And he put his hand on hers and the disease went from her, and she got up and took care of his needs.

^{16 Ref} And in the evening, they took to him a number of people who had evil spirits; and he sent the spirits out of them with a word, and made well all who were ill;

^{17 Ref} So that the word of Isaiah the prophet might come true: He himself took our pains and our diseases.

^{18 Ref} Now when Jesus saw a great mass of people about him, he gave an order to go to the other side.

^{19 Ref} And there came a scribe and said to him, Master, I will come after you wherever you go.

^{20 Ref} And Jesus said to him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of heaven have a resting-place; but the Son of man has nowhere to put his head.

^{22 Ref} But Jesus said to him, Come after me; and let the dead take care of their dead.

^{23 Ref} And when he had got into a boat, his disciples went after him.

^{24 Ref} And there came up a great storm in the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves: but he was sleeping.

^{25 Ref} And they came to him, and, awaking him, said, Help, Lord; destruction is near.

^{26 Ref} And he said to them, Why are you full of fear, O you of little faith? Then he got up and gave orders to the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

^{27 Ref} And the men were full of wonder, saying, What sort of man is this, that even the winds and the sea do his orders?

^{28 Ref} And when he had come to the other side, to the country of the Gadarenes, there came out to him from the place of the dead, two who had evil spirits, so violent that no man was able to go that way.

^{29 Ref} And they gave a loud cry, saying, What have we to do with you, you Son of God? Have you come here to give us punishment before the time?

^{30 Ref} Now there was, some distance away, a great herd of pigs taking their food.

^{31 Ref} And the evil spirits made strong prayers to him, saying, If you send us out, let us go into the herd of pigs.

^{32 Ref} And he said to them, Go. And they came out, and went into the pigs; and the herd went rushing down a sharp slope into the sea and came to their end in the water.

^{33 Ref} And their keepers went in flight to the town and gave an account of everything, and of the men who had the evil spirits.

^{34 Ref} And all the town came out to Jesus; and seeing him they made request that he would go away from their part of the country.

^{29 Ref} Behold, they cried out, saying, "What do we have to do with you, Jesus, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?"

^{30 Ref} Now there was a herd of many pigs feeding far away from them.

^{31 Ref} The demons begged him, saying, "If you cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of pigs."

^{32 Ref} He said to them, "Go!" They came out, and went into the herd of pigs: and behold, the whole herd of pigs rushed down the cliff into the sea, and died in the water.

^{33 Ref} Those who fed them fled, and went away into the city, and told everything, including what happened to those who were possessed with demons.

^{34 Ref} Behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus. When they saw him, they begged that he would depart from their borders.
